    General Introduction

    Sunday, June 3, 2007, 06:46 AM [General]

I'm Patchouli Sky, a 48 year old male eclectic Wiccan living in Illinois. I came to this path about 5 years ago, and it has had a significant effect on my life. I now am open to so many more of the possibilities that our universe has to offer. This path has allowed me to see what is important, and shown me how to live a lifestyle that enhances my life. I have devalued the need to have more and more needs and possessions, and to re-embrace the love of this earth that I had way back in junior high.

I don't want to sound too fluffy here. I also have developed an interest in the darker aspects of the divine and of the occult. I'm interested in the Underworld aspects of the Egyptian pantheon, and have developed quite an interest in the paranormal. I have great respect for deities that some would classify as "darker" such as Anubus, Lucifer, Lilith, Thoth, Hecate, and so on. While my Craft has foundations in Wicca, I have patchworked elements of other paths into mine. While I do a daily devotion to the God and Goddess, I am polytheistic, and do work with and respect individual deities.

I've become a more relaxed person, chucking the fast track lifestyle to live a more rounded life that many might call a mixture of bohemian and hippie, lol. We only have so much time on this earth, we might as well slow down and enjoy it. And take care of the earth. As a grade school student, I was very interested in ecology and nature, but lost interest due to college and forging a living. Now that my children are grown, I am recapturing what once was near to my heart.

I hope that I can meet some people here with similar interests. In other Internet communities, I find so many people under 21, and while I enjoy reading their forays into the Craft, it would be nice to find some people who have some life experience under their belts, where we might be able to find more common ground. I'm happily married, so I'm just looking some good conversation.

    Blessings,

    Patchouli Sky

The other night I was invited out for a night with the 'girls. ' I told
my husband that I would be home by midnight, 'I promise!' Well, the
hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily and around 3
a.m., a bit loaded, I headed for home.

Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hallway started up
and cuckooed three times. Quickly, realizing my husband would probably
wake up, I cuckooed another nine times.

I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted
solution, in order to escape a possible conflict with him. (Even when
totally smashed, three cuckoos plus nine cuckoos totals 12
    cuckoos--MIDNIGHT!)

The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, I told him
'MIDNIGHT.' He didn't seem pissed off in the least. Whew, I got away
with that one! Then he said 'We need a new cuckoo clock.' When I asked
him why, he said, 'Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times,
then said, 'oh, shit.' Cuckooed four more times, cleared its throat,
cuckooed another three times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then
tripped over the coffee table and farted.
